Jonas Viklund (1976 - ) was born in Stockholm. He studied Clarinet at the Royal College University of Music in Stockholm with Hermann Stefansson, Solve Kingstedt, and Kjell-Inge Stevensson, and gained his artist diploma in the spring of 2002. Jonas made his debus as solosit with Swedish Radio Orchestra performing Jean Françaix's Clarinet Concerto. He is often invited to play in Folkoperan in Stockholm, and is one of the most active members of Curious Chamber Players, a contemporary music ensemble based in Stockholm.
 
Jonas has attended masterclasses of Hans Deinzer, Charles Neidich, Michael Collins, Ricardo Morales, Martin Fröst, and Yehuda Gilad. He has also been selected to play in international orchestras such as Verbier Festival Orchestra, JM World Orchestra, and Orkester Norden with famous conductors such as James Levine, Zubin Metha, and Yuri Termirkanov.
 
As a chamber musician and soloist, Jonas has toured Balkan countries playing concerts and holding masterclasses with KammarensembleN. He has performed Mozart's Clarinet Concerto with SAMI Sinfonietta in Stockholm Concert Hall, participated Swedish Radio chamber music series "Sju ass ileken", shared a solo performance with Swedish opera singer Jeanette Bjurling in Sven David Sandström's "Freedom Mass" in a recording production of Caprice, and played with pianist Aisa Ijiri in Kyoto, Japan.
 
Jonas has been winning numerous scholarships and awards. He has been the winner of the Young Musicians Society's Soloist Competition, the winner of the Royal Academy of Music Great Scholarship for International Studies. He was awarded Byggnads Scholarship from the Prime Minister of Sweden, Ljons Scholarship for Culture, and the City of Sigtuna Culture Scholarship.
