| Malin Bång (1974) is residing in Stockholm, Sweden. Her work includes music for instrumental ensembles, orchestra, music drama, electronic music, instrumental sound installations and performance pieces. Her music is performed in festivals and concerts such as June in Buffalo (US), Huddersfield (UK), Zeitfenster at Konzerthaus Berlin, Voix Nouvelles at Royaumont, France, Ultima festival in Oslo, Sommerakademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, and and the Nordic Festivals Ung Nordisk Musik and Nordic Music Days. Malin Bång is the Composer In Residence for Curious Chamber Players, Sweden’s most active young contemporary music ensemble, with conductor Rei Munakata as the artistic leader. |

| Her music has also been performed by ensembles and musicians such as Athelas (DK), Figura (DK), KammarensembleN (SE), Ensemble Contrechamps (CH), Ensemble SurPlus (DE), Sabine Vogel (DE), Liv-Merete Kroken (NO), George Kentros (SE), the Basho Ensemble (SE), Quartet Nordir (SE) and Hamrali∂ Choir (IS). She has received many grants and commissions from Integra, Ultima Festival, the Nordic Music Days, the Swedish Radio, the Swedish Concert Institute, the Royal Music Academy, and the Swedish Art Grant Committee among others. |

| Malin Bång was portrayed in the Swedish Television program “The Concert of the Week” in March 2005, in connection to the world premiere of her piece “Fountain Club” and the tour with KammarensembleN as project Inversion. The Eufonia festival 2002 in Östersund, Sweden, was dedicated to Malin Bång’s music with four concerts presenting her works. |

| She has been studying composition at the Academy of Music in Piteå, Conservatoire Nadia et Lili Boulanger in Paris, Universität der Künste i Berlin, the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and in several master classes with teachers such as Brian Ferneyhough, Chaya Czernowin, Walter Zimmermann, Ole Lützow Holm and Philippe Capdenat. She is currently making an artistic research project at the University of Gothenburg School of Music. |
