¨CCP really has opened my eyes for modern music!¨. Sofia Johansson, a Swedish violinist, has been one of the core members of Curious Chamber Players. She has often led the ensemble as concert master, and has played violin duo with Karin Hellqvist, which is one of the most established sub-groups of CCP.

Sofia has received numerous scholarships such as KMA ungdomsstipendium, Stiftelsen Sigurd och Elsa Goljes minnes stipendium, and Vänersborgs samstiftelses stipendium. Sofia studied with Gunnar Crantz at Musikkonservatoriet i Falun, and continued with Anna Lindal and Cecilia Ziliacus at Kungl. Musikhögskolan i Stockholm. Her other influencial teachers have been Magnus Erikson and Peter Herrestahl.

Summer is an active season for Sofia. During the summer of 2005, she has participated and performed at Sommarakademiet in Oslo, held numerous concerts with her newly-formed violin/harp duo with Lotta Jacobson, and toured around whole Sweden with her band, Kolportörerna, which led them to make their debut album in August 2005.
