Martin Welander

Finding new sounds and sonic textures is the greatest passion of Martin Welander. When he gets to put his sounds in the context of contemporary music, he is as happy as can be.

Martin is currently residing in the center of Sweden, about 450 kilometers north of Stockholm. He spends his days building wind chimes out of the lilac bushes in his garden in summer and shovelling snow in winter.

Martin studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and has toured all over Europe playing both drums and various kitchen utensils, sometimes at the same time.
